Autumn In Nami Island, South Korea

I’m a self confessed Koreanovela fan and since Hallyu wave hit Asian countries, I’ve watched and rewatched countless K-dramas. Among all dramas i’ve watched, Winter Sonata is my favorite. Other than the storyline and actors, it was really the beauty of the place that captured me. It inspired me to pack my bags and experience first hand the beauty Namiseom where it was filmed.

Namiseon is a resort island that is only 30 minutes away from Chuncheon and an hour away from Seoul. The island is famous for its tree lined roads. In autumn, hues of yellow, red and orange abound the island and gives a romantic feeling. You can lazily sit on one of the picnic chairs near the lake, feel the cool breeze and just watch the day pass by. You can explore the island by doing leisure walking on forest path or by riding a bicycle.
Whatever the season, Nami island will always beguile you to come back.

It is indeed a photographer’s haven due to its numerous photo op sites.

How to find your way to Nami Island:
The fastest way to reach the island from Seoul is by train. The train journey takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. Get off at Gapyeong Station and take a taxi to Namiseom parking lot which is another 10 minutes ride. Upon reaching the parking lot a 5 minute ferry ride will take you to the island.
